Karn Bhumi Krishak Producer Company Limited (KBKPCL), was born of a project that was implemented by SEWA Bharat in the state of Bihar from Oct 2016 – Aug 2020

It is an initiative undertaken by 777 resilient women farmers who worked on their fields and wanted to increase their yield. Here women not only undertake leadership roles but also partake in adapting to the new farming techniques, practices, and systems. The main objective of Karn Bhumi is to increase the income of women farmers and for us to be recognized as important stakeholders in the market and value chain of agriculture .

The two districts of Karn Bhumi’s operation fall in the fertile Gangetic plains. Major crops grown here are rice, wheat, maize, pigeon pea, rabi pulses, mustard, tomato, brinjal, potato, cabbage, cauliflower, pea, and onion.
